The Fundación para la Vivienda Rural Costa Rica-Canadá was selected in 1995 for the national contest of the BEST TEN PRACTICES OF COSTA RICA, that are actions, initiatives or projects executed that have obtained evident improvements in the quality of life of the people and all what surrounds them in a sustainable way.

These experiences were presented in the World Conference CITIES SUMMIT (Habitat II) that took place in Istanbul , Turkey in June 1996.
